Road Trip to Nashville!

Continued from Post: Mississippi River, Ohio River and the Cumberland River

We were in Nashville Tennessee!!!
While we were at Green Turtle Bay, the weather forecast was calling for cold and wet for a few days. So after a couple days of exploring Grand River, we decided to see if we could rent a car and go to Nashville. Papi called Hertz and we had a car by 11:30 that morning. Nothing like a spur of the moment road trip!!!

We left on our road trip with an overnight bag and the car GPS. We had no idea what to expect, but we knew it would be a new adventure! We hadn't made any reservations ahead of time, and we were surprised that many hotels had no vacancy. We ended up going online with our cell phone to make reservations.  It worked out great. We stayed at the Sheraton, free parking and 10$/ea shuttle to "Broadway Street".

Broadway Street - where all the "Honky Tonks" are.

It was an interesting place to walk around, we could hear live music from everywhere. We were told to go eat at FGL Restaurant (Florida Georgia Line), however it was closed for building maintenance - just our luck! So instead we went to "Ole Red", to enjoy live music preformed by Cort Carpenter. (This is Blake Shelton's restaurant). We had a great time.

Just walking around...

On our second and last day in Nashville (it was a short and fun visit) we went to the Music Hall of Fame. What a place! We could have spent the entire day there, there was so much to see. We were both so interested in what we were reading/seeing we didn't take that many photos.

From the Music Hall of Fame we went for a drive to see the Parthenon, not what you expect to see in Nashville.

We then went to Opry Mills, a huge shopping center that houses the "Madame Tussaud" Wax museum.  We got to hang out and have fun with a few stars!

We got back at the marina around 8:30 that evening. Sometimes the most fun is when you do something unplanned like a quick side/road trip to Nashville!

The things you see when you travel! 😃

What an adventure this is!!!!
